Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers to your questions and get clarity on everything you need to know about our tests, process, and results.Food sensitivity testing helps you uncover how your body may be responding to certain foods or ingredients — giving you valuable insight into potential triggers behind things like digestive discomfort, skin irritation, headaches, or other non-allergic responses.
Unlike traditional allergy testing, this approach doesn’t diagnose or confirm a medical condition. Instead, it highlights possible patterns in how your body responds — helping you make smarter nutrition decisions, reduce guesswork, and better understand how what you eat could be influencing how you feel.*
We use hair as our method because we have found it to be one of the most stable, non-invasive, and reliable ways to explore how your body may be responding to foods and nutrients over time. It’s quick and simple to get started — and our turnaround time is among the fastest in the industry, so you can get actionable wellness insights without the wait.*
Don’t worry — color, treatments, or bleach won’t affect your results.
Just make sure your hair is clean and free of products like gels, sprays, or anything metallic (except for using scissors when taking your sample.)
Shampoo and conditioner are fine to use before collecting your sample.
No hair, no problem! We also accept facial or body hair.
Please provide 10 strands at least 0.5 inches long. If the hair is shorter, provide 20 strands instead.
Hair must be clean and free of products or any metallic residues. You may use scissors to take your hair sample.
If you choose to adjust your diet based on your results, consider a short trial period — for example, a few weeks (we often suggest up to 12 weeks) — to see how your body may respond to those changes. During that time, pay attention to how you feel and note any shifts in your overall well-being.*
If you’re trying to figure out why your body reacts right now — within minutes or hours — allergy testing is the tool for the job. It looks directly at how your immune system responds (IgG and IgE antibodies) and always requires a blood sample (not a hair sample.) Those reactions can be mild, severe, or even life-threatening, which is why ruling out allergies with a medical professional is the smart first step.*
That’s not what we do. Our tests don’t measure immune responses and can’t detect allergies — and they’re not meant to. Instead, they’re built to look at something completely different: cellular response patterns. Think of this as a deeper layer of feedback — how your body may respond over time to foods, nutrients, or environmental factors that don’t necessarily cause an instant reaction.*
While allergies happen fast, sensitivities often build slowly. Days. Weeks. Even months. They’re harder to spot — but they still impact how you feel. Knowing these patterns can help you make smarter choices about your diet, lifestyle, and environment.*
The fine print:
- This is a wellness tool, not a medical diagnosis.
- It’s not designed to treat, cure, or prevent disease.
- Always work with a qualified healthcare provider for anything medical — especially allergy concerns.
Absolutely! Children under the age of 6 can experience changes in food responses, nutrient patterns, and other wellness markers more rapidly as they grow. For this reason, it is recommended to consider more frequent re-testing to help track these evolving patterns over time.
Note: this test is not an allergy test. Always consult your medical or healthcare provider for allergies, medical conditions or concerns about your health.
